However, we do not endorse every point of view that may be presented in the books included. ECOLOGY

Blue Gold: The Fight to Stop the Corporate Theft of the World’s Water, by Maude Barlow and Tony Clarke, lays out the case against privatizing water in a clear and forceful manner, and suggests some ways to fight back.

Crimes Against Nature by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the country's most prominent environmental attorney, charges that George Bush and his administration have eviscerated the laws that have protected our nation's air, water, public lands, and wildlife for the past thirty years, enriching the president's political contributors while lowering the quality of life for the rest of us.

The Ecology of Commerce: A Declaration of Sustainability by Paul Hawken shows that "ecology offers a way to examine all present economic and resource activities from a biological rather than a monetary point of view." Hawkin proposes rational, achievable goals: stop "accelerating the rate that we draw down capacity"; refrain from "buying or degrading other people's environment"; and avoid displacing "other species by taking over their habitats.
